Word Of The Day: “America…You Treat Me Like Animal”
You Treat Me Like…Animal
During Eddie Murphy’s Raw…He told a joke about finding his wife out in Africa, and bringing her back to the states. He told how she was the perfect wife, with no issues at all. She was submissive, domesticated, and she hung on his every letter. Until she started hanging around American black women, and they told her how she was being taken advantage of and gave her all this attitude to run with. So she confronted Eddie, and told him she didn’t like how she was being treated. She said Eddie…”You treat me like Animal!”…All comparisons to this story aside….I just want to focus on that statement today, because today…
That is how I feel…America…You treat me like…ANIMAL..
Animals…admired for our beauty…emulated for our tenacity…exploited for our entertainment value…In awe of our “surprising” intelligence…and used as house pets, and work horses. Ultimately though, you will keep us around for your purposes. You might even claim you love us. You love our loyalty like dogs, because in your eyes we are to be submissive and loyal to you, because if it wasn’t for you “taking us in”…We’d be in the wild right? We wouldn’t know what to do with ourselves or how to survive.
We should obey…
Animals…and just like any animal, if you fear us for any reason, whether warranted or not. We are at danger, and if we don’t obey we are to harshly punished, and God forbid if we get out of control and lash out…We must be PUT DOWN.
Even though there’s PETA (civil rights). Our lives are ultimately looked at as disposable. Protesting Mike Brown’s murder is as trivial to some whites as protesting the purchase of a fur coat. We are disposable. Especially by those in power, and even more bluntly shown by those in power on the ground level. Many of these police officers are in positions of power, wielding weapons, but are completely and utterly cowards. They walk around with their chests poked out, looking for opposition. Looking for opportunity…”Obey or die”…Do what i say or go into this cage…You’ll be lucky if i put you in this cage. I would much rather kill you. This sounds harsh, but this is the emotion. This is the rage that comes from someone that does not respect the life that is opposing them…HOW DARE YOU?…How dare you disobey? Wild animals must be laid to rest…And as long as I can state that you were an out of control animal…No authority will punish me for it. After all…I am the authority. That is the sentiment that events like last night are seasoned in. It feels like open season on young black men…Now some would argue that it’s been that way in the black community. Black on black violence is bountiful. However the difference is this…If a black male murders a black male, and they catch him in the act or thereafter…They will be happy to throw him in jail and throw away the key. In turn taking two black lives off the street, and making profit off of one of them in the process through the jail system. When a white police officer murder a black man in cold blood…HE WALKS AWAY…If he does it in broad daylight in front of witnesses….HE WALKS AWAY…you cannot begin to compare the two.
Now ask me again why I am angry…Ask me again why i feel the way i do…
Black people…please…spread love…support one another…Grow…Unite…Share…Learn…Wake Up…Be aware of yourself and your surroundings. Let’s do better for each other. Peace and Love.
Human Beings as a whole…Love ALL of God’s children. Amen
